EU Pet Passport Renewal

Hi,

We are Spanish residents (near Pedreguer, Costa Blanca North) but UK passport holders and our dog has an Irish EU Pet Passport (he was a rescue). His passport is almost full of the relevant stamps and it will need renewing this year whilst we are in Spain. Does anyone know if this is a simple process and/or whether there will be any issues because he has an Irish EU pet passport or that we have UK passports?

It shouldn’t be a problem at all!

Just go to your Spanish vet and they will do a new one for you.

Your nationality is irrelevant.

Hi Colin

We arrived late October 2020 and paid for our dog to have the necessary Pet Passport & necessary rabies jab etc, quite expensive ( around £190) I believe at home before we left England

Obviously now most of UK is not being part of EU we just went to re register our contact details/ Spanish address etc with local vet, change chip details, had to have blood test & another rabies ( only 7 months since last) and new Spanish pet passport and all that only cost €89

Our dog just had the Rabies injection in Spain and the new EU passport because the UK one isn't valid now. She has 2 one for UK and one for EU 🤬. The passport was 13 euros and I think the Rabies injection was 40 odd euros.
