Does anyone know what the real regulations are regarding travelling to and from Spain with a dog? I believe the UK are saying we need to provide 4 months notice to take a dog to Spain but the control is surely with Spain, not the UK!

Ideally I would like to be referred to official Spanish and UK sources for information - though I accept things may change depending on the final negotiations currently underway between the UK & the EU.

Thanks in advance!

Colin

Thanks for the link. It looks like we will have to wait to see what results from the current negotiations.

Do you know where to find the official Spanish rules/guidelines?

Brexit - what have you done??!!

Hi Colin,

There are links to EU Pet Travel Regulations and the Pet Travel helpline in the link I've ready given you.  Also, the post-Brexit UK regulations are written to ensure that your pet can return from the EU to the UK, so EU regs don't take precedence over UK regs, or vice versa - they are both relevant and work in tandem.  Unless you're not planning to return to the UK?

Kind regards,

Kim

Thanks Kim - I have now found the EU section!

We plan to move to and from Spain regularly so the more information we have, the better.

Take care,

Colin
