Without doubt Sabadell, been with them for over four years, great service in branch or online, English speaking staff in every branch, English language website, low fees for non residents and no fees for residents making regular deposits each month.

As recommend above, Sabadell. The app is very user friendly and reliable. Also in English. Most branches have English speaking staff (although not usually cashiers) who speak English for problem resolution.

Many thanks to all for your help.. Sabadell it will be then by the looks of it!
Hi, I can only confirm what has been said. Sabadell. Also they set my entire account up for me remotely. Only had to go in when we were finally purchasing and needed bank drafts.
Also, if you are sending cash abroad to the account take a look at transferwise. You only pay a small transaction fee and get the FX rate at that time. No hefty bank commission on the exchange rate.

Quick extra question.. I'm guessing it is the "Key Account" that I need to apply for?
Many thanks again to all

If/when you open an account with Sabadell they will try to sell you home insurance. It will be slightly more expensive than you can find from an independent broker but might be worth taking if you are going to purchase property here. This is because if you are buying and you want a bankers draft to go to notary they will charge you for it. What I did was to accept the insurance on the proviso they didn't charge for the draft, then I moved my insurance after year one. (One thing to be aware of is that in Spain all insurers require 3 months notice of cancellation or you are locked into charges for the following year)
