Hi all, my lawyer is charging me 320 euros for two of us to complete our non resident tax return for 2020.
Does anyone know how hard it would be to complete this process ourselves and what the cost would be ?
thanks
Annie

We use company called Angar taxation to compete our non resident tax returns and they charge 20 Euros each.Everything is done online. We have used them for several years with no problem. Hope this helps.

Thanks Kim
well ,the truth is this, you only pay tax 2 the country that u r resident in so if you are a resident of the uk then you pay hmrc tax,if u r not a resident of spain you owe no tax to the spanish government,
very hard, the lawyers fees are worth it,good luck.

Hi apache999,
You appear to be confused. This thread is about Spanish NON-RESIDENT tax (the Modelo 210). Foreigners who own property in Spain, but don't live in Spain (and who don't rent it out for income), have to pay an imputed tax annually, calculated on the rateable value of their property. This is the subject of Anniebeth9's query.
You're talking about income tax (the Modelo 100). Even then, your assertion that, "you only pay tax 2 the country that u r resident in" is an over-simplification. For example, I am tax resident in Spain, because I live here permanently. I also own property in the UK, which I rent out. Under UK tax law, I have to declare the income earned in the UK to HMRC and pay income tax on it in the UK. However, as I am permanently resident in Spain, I also have to declare the UK rental income in my Spanish tax return (the Modelo 100). There is a Dual Taxation Agreement (DTA) between the UK and Spain, which sets out the principle that an individual should not pay tax on the same income in both countries. In accordance with this DTA, my Spanish tax return takes account of the fact that I have already declared and paid tax on my UK rental income in the UK.
Kind regards,
Kim
