I have an apartment in the centre of Denia and want to start using it more frequently, taking advantage of remote working.

I need a reliable broadband service for that, and wish to stream TV too.

However, reality is that I'll only need this approx 6 weeks a year at this stage.

Any advice on providers, costs, etc would be most appreciated. I'm out in Denia again on the 9th April and would like to get things moving/installed during that visit.

Thanks in advance...

Most adsl / broadband services require 12 month+ contracts.

A wireless internet service, like offered by PCStar in Denia, allows you to turn on and off as you wish...but they may have specific requriements, and maybe 6 weeks a year is not long enough.

If not, then you currently have mobile roaming...good enough for a bit, but not for streaming which eats into your monthly limits...

Understood. Okay, if I were to plump for a 12 month contact I'd need a level of confidence that the service is reliable, with responsive English speaking support should I encounter issues. Any suggestions?

If you are in the center of denia, then perhaps you have fiber...so check or ask neighbours.

Movistar are the BT of Spain...and have support in English...although waiting in the phone queue should you need them can take a morning!!!

Vodafone and Orange are also options

I looked at this company as I’m soon to move to Els Poblets. But, looking on Trust pilot only one good Review. The rest were dire.

We have a house in Bellreguard and are in a similar situation in that we have no landline but my husband works in IT and I speak near fluent spanish and between us we went to orange and bought a ‘dongle’ which enables us to access the internet for either 23€ a month for 3 months at a time (or ongoing if needed) or I think 38/45€ per month on a month by month basis. He used it for work and had really good connectivity.....we have 4g coverage everywhere we’ve been in Spain so far so it’s better than the UK....I can try and find out more details if needed but think our paper work is there but we did our initial investigations on line and their website can be converted into English if needed.......we needed our NIE numbers etc to sign up but we did it all in an afternoon and we’re online by the evening.....

Sorry I should’ve have said that it allows us to have WiFi in the house....the comment about 4g was really just about how good connectivity is in Spain in general!

Thank you for the info. I will go into the Orange store when I'm next out in Denia.

Happy New Year!
