Hi everyone & thank you for welcoming me to this very interesting site..

My wife & l are seriously thinking of taking a yearly rental in Denia next Autumn, because it seems (from an outsider looking in)  a lovely place to spend time in..

What please, are the pros & cons of living here & would you recommend living along one of the beach roads off Carr de les Marines Rd..

Also, how bad the traffic is along that particular road getting into town in high season ?..

Many thanks

Hi Denia is a beautiful place to live and has a lot going on throughout the year with plenty of fiestas. Las Marinas is very busy in July and August but the rest of year especially after September it’s quite empty. Fabulous restaurants and bars, an amazing marina etc. we have lived here for nearly 15 years now and wouldn’t change a thing. Good luck and any more questions please ask. Regards Michael

Hi

We've been renting an apartment in Denia for a month now with a view to making a more permanent move if we get a positive Brexit deal. We're staying on the Carr de les Marines which is a little further out of Denia than we would like although there is the regular Denibus which takes 10 minutes or so to get into Denia Centre for a flat rate of €1.50.

You may be interested in the site www.idealista.com which lists many long term rentals in this area and covers the whole of Spain too.

We love Denia and thoroughly recommend joining social groups like the U3A and other ex pat groups.  There are beautiful walks and cycles including the Via Verde which is the old, disused railway line and is motor traffic free and set among the orange groves.  It's such a lovely town and it is a working town so most of shops, restaurants and bars remain open all year around.

Good Luck with your search.

Heather

Many thanks for replying Heather...

I take it that the 'going rate' for a 2 bed apartment is around the €600 pm mark?

Also, how long can you stay before having to apply for residency?

Hi Martin

Currently applying and getting a residency appointment is something like 8 - 10 months and some are having to apply in Alicante to get one.  So I guess the answer is apply asap but do get professional advice .

If you are British then you may find difficulties until Brexit has been resolved.  Probably will be seen as a "third country" and will depend on the deal.

Prices range hugely on apartments depending on area but do take a look at the website details I gave earlier which will give a good indication of what you can get.

Good luck

Heather

Many thanks for the info...

Our monthly pension income is less than €2400 but we are drawing monies from our savings pot... Would this suffice Ray?

Kind regards

Really helpful reply for us Ray, we're keeping our fingers crossed that things aren't too pernicious...

Thank you..

Hi Michael

I have bought a villa in Villa Riviera in Denia. It took me couple of years to make a decision, I am glad I did in the end. Where about safe you in Denia? Thanks
