Pool construction
How much would it cost to put in a pool?
do i need planning?
Is it better to have a pre-fab pool or contrcut from scratch?

All depends on type and size
Estimate around 15k for something 8x4 mtr
Deffo will need permissions if going into the ground
I suggest above ground with fab decking as a great option
Look at Pinterest to see some great ideas on there

Hi,
We recently looked into having an above ground pool with wooden surround and decking as we want the option of being able to dismantle the pool if we ever decide in the coming years that we don't want it any more. We had Barry from Real Wood Pools come and go through everything with us explaining all the workings, costs, etc. He may do your area so worth going on his website to have a look.

above ground would cause potential danger issues due to height?
What material will it be made from if above ground?

When we bought our house there was an existing above ground pool, in a sad stat of disrepair. We decided to replace it.
This cost approx 1200 Eu for a replacement pool container complete with support framing of approx 5.5 mt by 4. We have limited space. This also included pump. We had to relay the ground upon which it was standing, which with labour and materials was in the region of five hundred or so. The surrounding ground area was finished with river pebbles, couple of hundred. Decking and steps not yet complete, husband doing it, but the main cost will be timber which is expensive here. He says probably a couple of thousand to include all framing for decking supports, decking and a couple of days labour. So that is approximately between 4 and 5 K.
The pool came from Intex, bought and paid online, based Alicante.

well, technically perhaps. In other words, one could empty and dismantle it with a small amount of effort. We have this above ground pool, as where we live, miles out in the campo due to it being a protected rural area, we are not permitted to have a pool ´sunk´ into the ground. We may only have structures which could be designated as temporary, other than the main house. We may not have any form of stone step in the garden, nor a paved drive, nor any interference apart from some gardening with the rural land. Hence the pool!
