Morning All

My partner and are in the process of buying a second home in Denia, due for completion in July. We are over again in May and want to use our time wisely....

To that end we are looking for recommendations for decent furniture and homewares shop in and around Denia and Alicante (we are spending first few nights in Alicante in May).

At this point we have nothing so looking for everything from beds to mugs!

Many thanks in advance for any help

Tony

When you get to Denia, right next to motorway exit at Ondarra is the Portal de la Marina shopping mall and retail park with all kinds of stores. Inside the mall itself you have Casa (homewares) and Jysk (furniture and homewares), plus Carrefour hypermarket with a big non food section including glassware, crockery, cookware, cutlery etc. Around the mall you have three large Chinese stores plus Leroy Merlin which is similar to B&Q in the UK. A few kilometres away on the main road into Denia is a vast range of furniture, houseware and lighting stores on either side of the road as you hit the town's outskirts.

Get it all from IKEA for a reasonable price.

We bought all our furniture from BAS & Co, on the N332 just outside of Gata, towards Benissa.  A family firm with excellent prices who will go the extra mile for you.  All our storage / ottoman beds and sofas, etc.  I would highly recommend them.

Also wait until the transaction completes as it’s normal in Spain to get a lot of things left from the seller!

If your requirements are not particularly price conscious, there are many very high quality independent furniture stores. A huge one in Benissa, Muebles Martínez, for example, several in both  Gata de Gorgos and Teulada.
