We live in denia and have eventually got an appointment in Alicante for our residency on January 27th. We have an appointment at our bank and at the gestor we have been using next Wednesday to get all the final details together for the appointment. However the gestoria cannot provide us with a translator to come to Alicante with us. Can anyone please recommend someone in the area who may be available?

Hi Pat, I can't recommend a translator who would go down to Alicante from Denia. Unless your timeline is very urgent why not monitor the website for a new appointment in Denia? Most Gestoria will be happy to go local with you.

Last resort if set on Alicante might be to apply to join the Facebook group for Javea Connect, I'm willing to bet someone there would do it for the right money.

Good luck, Steve

Hello Pat,

Please give me a call if you still need a translator. I might be able to help.

Cheers.

PatDave, I would be very interested to hear how long it took to get your appointment and was there a specific reason for having it Alicante instead of Denia?

We are considering applying for residency later in the year if there is a positive Brexit outcome but have heard whispers that it can take up to ten months and in that time I am sure we would be kicked out of Spain as it exceeds the 90 day rule.

Be grateful for a reply.

Regards

Heather

All told it has taken over 8 months to get an appointment. Alicante is the only place for us to get one at the moment. Don't see how they can enforce the ruling and throw you out if you are trying to make an appointment.

Good morning Pat,

I believe this was sent to me in error. To keep the correspondence private between two parties, one should only reply to the original message, otherwise everybody involved in the topic gets copied and has access to the entire email trail.  Thought I'd let you know in case you want to keep your correspondence private.

Have a nice day.

Rosco.
