Hi there. We are moving to Denia next year after spending the last 7 years here in Barcelona.

What with Brexit et al, I think I shall apply for a Residencia when I arrive in Denia, I already

hold a NIE. Can you please advise what forms etc I need and where to go in Denia for the

Residencia. THat would be very helpful. Many thanks.Brian

Brian if you don't have Residencia I would suggest getting a Gestor to make a prior appointment for you or go yourself to the Policia Extranjeros, Avenida del Marquesat, in Denia. Once you have your prior appointment, take with you Passport, NIE, health certification, proof of income, e.g. bank statements showing you have regular income/means of support.

I took my house deeds (escritura) and Padron just in case but wasn't asked for these. They speak English and the process is quick.

Good luck, Steve

If you speak Spanish you could save the Gestor fee by applying online yourself, if not use a Gestor, take the hit and move on!  There is public parking all around the office but it can be difficult to find a space. I parked in the pay car park at the Marina (not expensive) and walked up, about a 5 minute stroll.

It's quite a small office. You introduce yourself to the officer at the door and he will tell you to take a seat until you're called. Certainly the female officer I was allocated to spoke perfect English, don't think you'll have any problem in there.

Hi

To have your address updated against your NIE is different from applying for your residency. Its a separate fee. I have done this. If you live in spain you must update your address. If you were to receive a fine the penalty for not paying on time is huge and will only increase.

Use a solicitor i paid 25€

Tigerfeet hi. One of the most knowledgeable posters on the forum has said it's not address specific. For the avoidance of doubt can you post a link to the relevant legislation that says it is?

Hi Steve. Thanks for replying. THats what I thought but I did read somewhere that it does need to

have a change of address made. The NIE does have the original address so I dont know the answer.

Brian

No,

I’ve had my NIE for over 16 years and never given address, and my two sons got their NIE in May this year and they had no address then.
