Hi there, I am having difficulty trying to find the address of the police office in Denia to apply for my NIE, nothing on the forum.

Can you help? Many thanks, James

The online appointments system at the moment is only giving appointments at the police station in Alicante:

http://www.consultorga.com/data/seccion1/C-NIE.pdf

The police website says that Denia don't do NIEs, but Benidorm do:

https://www.policia.es/documentacion/oficinas/com_valenciana.html

But why spoil a holiday by applying in Spain? Have a day out in London or Edinburgh, as appropriate, and do it at the consulate:

Hi,

The police station is on Av de Marquesat, 53. (Try google maps). I got my residency there last week using a local gestoría who booked the appointment (i.e NOT via the website). They were also still doing N.I.E but I was told it may all change now that Brexit has happened. Probably best to ask a local gestor what the current situation is as it can change day to day it seems

We got our NIE's yesterday at the Spanish Consulate in London.

Bit of a faff but filled in and printed out the forms at home. Booked appointment online and then took about 2 minutes to get the forms stamped and pay the fee £8.10 each.

Do you have to have a letter or document saying you are buying a property before you get a NIE or can you book an appointment at local Spanish consulate (E'burgh, London etc) and get it there before even thinking about buying a property? I find it confusing! :)

Hello

You can get an NIE from a Spanish consulate in preparation for buying a property here in Spain. If that is your inttention, it would seem to make more sense to come  prepared.

Although I cant imagine anything has changed, this was the situation pre Brexit withdrawal agreement ending so I would phone them to ask, or look online  before you make the journey

Cheers

No.. we just filled in the forms online and went along to get ours.. I can't recall being asked for any "proof" of why we wanted one although I'm sure we said we would be buying a house we had no proof of that..

It's similar to a National Insurance number so doesn't really do much in itself but is essential to "do" anything in Spain.

My solicitor obtained our NEI so we could buy a property and once we had the property I went to the NEI office in Denia to update the details . No hassle .

I am surprised your solicitor has not advised you on this as you require an address to obtain an NEI

Cheers
