My question is, does anybody know whether your British passport gets stamped at Alicante airport when flying to another country within the E.U. for travelling from and returning to Spain as a non resident? That assumes of course that all the COVID travel rules are compliant and adhered too! Thank you in anticipation.

Ours got stamped good luck
I fly to and from Denmark (resident) 2-3 times a year using my British passport, and it never gets stamped. It would normally be stamped/registered when you arrive at the first EU country after leaving the UK and again when you leave the EU to a non EU country.

Thanks for that Kenneth. My concern stems from flying with Ryanair. Do they use other gates at Alicante airport for E.U. travel? I have only flown to and from the U.K. using their dedicated area which requires passing through the "passport stamping section" !
Cheers, Brian.

Yes, Ryanair and other carriers use different gates for Schengen flights, so you don’t get your passport stamped when travelling between Schengen areas.

Thank you for your reply Lynn.
I'm fed up with this passport stamping issue as an enforced non - resident frequent traveller now post Brexit!
I might be running out of pages before my passport expires and have to get an early renewal at extra expense - just a moan!
Anyway that could be useful information for others.
Cheers.

If travelling between different countries in the Schengen/EU zone your passport does/should not get stamped, this should only happen when you leave the zone for a non-EU/Schengen zone country.
However, as you area non-resident, staying in the zone, albeit in different countries, will increase your total in the 90 in 180 day rule - once you surpass this and leave the zone and then try to return you may encounter problems at immigration and denied entry - presuming you have exceeded the 90 days in 180 day ruling

Thanks for that.
I understand the 90/180 rule, hence having to return to the U.K. so frequently. As it happens I will only be in Spain for less than 2 months and will fly to Italy for 5 days in between before returning to the U.K.
I'm planning to travel to our holiday home on an approximate 2 month rotational basis from now and assume that will be within the rules?!
I'm grateful for all your replies.
