HI Neil,

Yes they do but I'm sure you must be resident and of a certain age.

I'm sure someone will have more knowledge of this and can tell you more on here soon. No need for Private message, if there are no personal details on the information, as this kind of info is helpful for everyone.

Thanks

It's an academic question for me, as the area I live in doesn't have a bus service.

You'd have to check with your town hall, as each municipality makes its own rules as to whether they issue bus passes and, if so, what the criteria are for eligibility.

I understand that Torrevieja do bus passes, but I don't know of any other municipality that does so. I also don't know if bus passes, when available, are confined to travel within a municipality, or travel anywhere on routes served by specific bus operators. Perhaps someone would like to advise us.

Hi Neil,

The Costa Azul red and blue lines which cover Torrevieja Hospital to Cabo Roig medical centre, including La Zenia, Villamartin and Playa Flamenca charge people who are over 60 years old less. It costs 95c for anywhere on the route. You need to show a photo ID showing your DOB, like a driving licence or copy passport. Because of this concession on fares, I don't believe there is any free travel pass here. I think the full fare would be 1.25€

No problem - Thanks for asking this question as it's very helpful for many of us. I thought I heard someone say that they had a bus pass but possibly it is, as Jim says, area specific.

The best advice is to ask in your town hall. I know that the Alicante airport bus, that goes to and from Torrevieja, does what Sheila64 says and allows those over a certain age to have discounted travel which is good.

Hi all,

I've just found out today that the full fare is now 1:55€. A neighbour took the blue line from La Zenia Boulevard to Aguamarina Health Centre in Cabo Roig and she forgot her photo ID. Obviously the over 60 fare should be less than that.

I'm surprised nobody from Torrevieja has chipped in.

As I understand it, provided you're on the padron and pay a small fee, you get free travel.
