I have found that prices differ from chemist to chemist.   I also ask for the  cheapest of each particular drug.  Just say Mas barato.   It like buying Nurofen or a non brand.

Prescribed drugs are price fixed by government legislation, and don't vary between chemists.

OTC medications, like aspirin etc, if not on the prescribed drugs list, do vary in price and in many cases are dearer in the UK. As in the UK, generic - genérico - are usually cheaper than brand name equivalents.

For something common like aspirin, it may be worth checking what the chemist charges for his OTC version, then looking at Vademecum. For example, Adiro is aspirin, and a few of those on Vademecum do have controlled prices.
