Monarch fiasco
We go back to uk 16th October.
Monarch are only flying people back up to 15th. Can't get any info about what to do. Anyone else in this predicament?

Yes we are going home later in the month but apparently you can claim your flight price back from your credit card or debit card if you used this to pay but, if like me, you used PayPal, as far as I know there is no PayPal insurance to cover this :( but I will check it out. ...oh and book a new flight .

So am I LOL but it's only one way ..we managed to get to Spain last week with Monarch and no sign of anything to come like this. I feel sorry for those who have to get back to work and may need to wait to be transported back to UK.
My son was lucky as he booked Monarch to fly to Spain last week and Easy Jet to return to UK this week (how lucky was that!?)
The thing that I'm a bit miffed about is that I always check when booking holidays if they are ABTA protected and had no idea that Monarch had no ATOL protection on their flights since Dec 2016...they kept that quiet!!..It should have been stipulated during the booking process IMO.

I have lost the return legs of my flights in November but wI'll get my money back as I booked it on my CC.
However I have just booked flights for the same day via Ryanair and they have dropped considerably in price and are a lot less then I paid for the Monarch flights.
Agree with the comments about them not disclosing they had no Atol license

Linda A, I don't think you can rely on flying back with Monarch on 15th October. The airline ceased trading yesterday, so no more flights . We are travelling out on 12th October and have bought one way tickets from Easy-jet. Just as well, we bought our return tickets from easy jet weeks ago!

What she will mean is they are only putting on planes for monarch customers for those who have travel upto the 15th October. Any one after these dates you've lost your flight and have to make your own arrangements
