Opening a Spanish bank account

Hi yeah we also have sabadel and are very happy with them 

Exactly the same as Pete knight, I thought Santander-Santander was best but they are totally separate banks and do not affiliate. 

We have Santander uk (free withdrawals from Spanish Santander banks) and sabadell for Spanish banking (purchases DD's) etc. We obtained a 0% free credit card which 'loans' and borrowed £5k on that, we then purchased the equivalent in €'s through a money company who obtained the highest rate possible, then they transferred that to sabadell. ( our Spanish needs and bills are now taken care of for the next few years worry free having to just pay a set monthly fee back to the CC each month).

They brilliant and opened our account there and then u will need your NIE number

Debit card posted to uk and there on line banking is easy to use

Hi, someone recently wrote on this site about the Spanish none residents fee going up to 150 euro per person per year according to my bank Sabadell this is BS I have just paid our via our bank and it's around 30 euro each and that is for 2 years, do wish people would check their info before they go and scare people. Anyway this is not a charge from the bank it's a charge imposed by the police.
