I need to open anew bank account. I have been with Sabadell for years but now they are charging 60€ every 3 months.

Is Revolut recognised?

Hi there, we only get over there from Australia once a year to our apartment in La Florida and feel the same way - ridiculous fees for nothing!!!

However, we got some advice from some kind and knowledgeable people on this forum, to open a 'Wise' Internet account, so we did.

So easy to set up and we're still feeling our way around it just to get the hang of it (not technophobes but we're in our late 50's LOL). Have done some Money Transfers UK to AU, and so far so good, so about to do one to ES.

When we're more confident of what we can do, we intend to contact all our service providers in ES (Water, Electric, Solicitors etc) and get them to Direct Debit - then no more Sabadell Bank Fees - YAY!!!

Good luck ☺

Yes, Wise is a good solution and they will have to accept it, your € account IBAN will likely be in Belgium so EU account and there is no reason any company can refuse it.

We are resident but still use Wise for some transactions and DDs  both in £ and  €, never had any turned down.

Stay clear of Spanish banks offers to waive charges if you take out their insurances, they are a rip off to say the least.

I took out house insurance with sabadell when I purchased the property to save the cost of the cheque!  350 € annual, changed to Segura 155 € !
