Hi Get a satalite installed by someone like Blue Sat on Ave Germanies and buy a freesat box from Amazon cost about 120 euros then you will get all usual English programmes without any monthly cost note FREESAT box not FREEVIEW

Hi Sky box will do ,but do you not have a monthly payment for Sky? also if you use Sky do not tell them because they will switch you off as you are not suppose to use them abroad although i know a lot of people who do use them especially for sport, using a U K address

A Sky box, even without a Sky card and subscription, will get all (and more) "free to air" channels than a Freesat box.

"is there a benefit to a Freesat over sky box" - the only benefit is that a Freesat box will show only the "free to air" channels in the channel guide, whereas a Sky box will show all the free and PAY / SUBSCRIPTION channels in the channel guide. Obvs you will not get the pay channels without paying for them!

Or yes, you can go via the broadcasters Catch UP services like iPlayer. But run a Smart DNS service (like https://www.smartdnsproxy.com ), as these are harder for the broadcasters to block than VPNs. Normally you can install these directly onto the device you want to use, but if this is to be used on a Freesat box or via Chromecast, you need to install it on a seperate router 

Thank you for the comprehensive answer. I thought that was the case but didn't want to look stupid if I was wrong. I've been using a sky box in in el Campello for the last 14 years but always with my UK address. I'm moving completely in March next year after getting residency sorted in December.
