Hi. Does anyone offer a sky Q setup in Alicante area. I already have a 1.8m dish currently picking up sky HD. I understand that I will need a new hybrid LNB. I wont have a UK address.

There is a company here in the UK that is offering this for Spain but for some reason I will need a new 1.8m dish with the LNB. According to them no-one in Spain can fit this dish and lnb, but I will need to find someone to fit it, which contradicts the first statement.

Im sure I need the new LNB, Sky Q equipment and somehow a subscription without a UK address. My dish is as far as I can remember a 1.8m offset dish mounted on the roof terrace. Picks up Sky HD no problem. It has a 0.3mhz universal LNB fitted to a C120 feedhorn. I was going to replace the LNB with an Invacom quad, but if sky Q can be available I'd rather go down that route.

Cheers Guys

"as I can remember a 1.8m offset dish" - generally, if you are using a C120 feedhorn, then you have a prime focus dish, and not an offset dish. Prime focus - LNB sites on three arms with the LNB in the centre of the dish. Offset, the LNB is set at an offset angle to the dish.

No idea why the company in the UK wants you to get a new dish though...

For SkyQ you need a wideband LNB.

A Hybrid LNB will be needed if you want to run both SkyQ and any other receiver from the same dish

No matter what LNB you get you will need to make sure it can be adapted for the prime focus dish and feedhorn - if indeed it is a prime focus dish that you have. And dont go for the Sky made SkyQ LNB, they are relally poor performers.

YOu say you already have Sky HD without a UK address, presumably using a friend or relatives, or a company there, in which case you will have to do the same for the SkyQ box and card...probably using the company that is selling the equipment (which is tricky, as the SkyQ box remains Skys property - hence why you never see them for sale on ebay!)

Move the sky account to another uk address, that of a friend or family member, who does not already have Sky.

Otherwise you will have to cancel your account, and pay one of the "agents / companies" a yearly fee to host the card at one of their uk addresses.
