Sorry if this has been asked before, I will be in el campello for three months from January, as spread is so high my query is, how would I get grocery delivery if I have to isolate? I went on Consum website but to register you need Spanish ID details? Can you phone a local store? Just one of those things I’d like to know as I don’t think our apartment has a large freezer!!!

Home grocery service is practically non existent in Spain. I have tried to get a delivery from my local Mercadona which is less than a kilometre away from where we live, but when I tried they do not cover my area.

Gosh, do you know what people are doing then if they catch it?

Common sense prevails. Even in the first severe lockdown , you were still allowed out for essentials. Same applies now.  If you have no one else to go for you , you go yourself and take all precautions against spreading it.  Mask as soon as you leave your front door, with clean hands and get in and out as soon as possible . They don’t want a bunch of dead folk behind closed doors due to starvation !

Throw themselves on the mercy of neighbours I expect. I dont know of any charities you could contact if you were in that position, but someone on this forum may know of some.

Ha ha! No I’m sure they don’t! Thank you, I’m probably worrying unnecessarily, but in a different country things you take for granted like calling a mate wouldn’t be available, thanks aga

That is true, but I can appreciate the OP’s concern. You may not feel well enough to leave your property to go shopping, mask or not. Personally I would ensure that I had a stock of basic essentials, long enough to see me through a week. If I still did not feel well enough by then I would be seeking medical assistance.

They insisted I had Covid in November 2020 on the basis of my four year old symptoms and a claimed positive test they gave me, it took a few days before I convinced them I did not need to be in a hospital, so they took me home but told me I was not allowed out of my property for a further 14 days. When I told them I lived alone and had no family or friends here so could they tell me how I was expected to get food, they could offer no advice. Fortunately a French neighbour took pity on me and did some shopping for me.

If one has to isolate then they are not allowed out even to shop. Isolation means just that.

Thank you everyone for your comments but  this seems to have become a different debate. I have no intention of breaking any isolation rules hence my question. I was hoping that there might be a local store who would deliver essentials in such cases as there are here, or a way to register with a big store but obviously not, I won’t be able to call on a neighbor as I won’t know anyone, but never mind, it’ll have to be a pasta diet if it happens!!!!!
