Hi there, we have a holiday home in EC.. We're meant to be flying over in early December - assuming things don't get any worse!

If we do actually manage to get over we will have had to do a PCR test within 72 hours of flying - assuming we need or want to do the same when we're flying back I'm wondering if anyone knows where you can do a PCR test privately in El Campello?  thanks for any info...

Don't think you need one to fly into the UK.

Thanks but I live in France - and Spain requires people from 60 countries from 23/11 to have a negative PCR test done 72 hours before flying... If we can actually manage to get the test results in time in France to get to Spain, we'd like to do a PCR test in Spain prior to flying back as no doubt there will be another spike in Covid numbers after the Christmas/New Year celebrations everywhere..

Thanks - but I'm not UK based and want to try and get a test in Alicante prior to flying back (assuming we can manage to fly out there!)

France is under lockdown. There is supposed to be no travel between regions . Except for essential shopping and medical appointments travel has been restricted to 1k from your home. How can you be travelling to Spain who has banned traveling for tourism and travelling between regions , unless it it to a permanent main residence

The Schengen frontiers aren't closed - so you can travel between EU countries - and my husband will be teleworking so that is allowed.

Having lived in France for over 28 years I'm well aware of the conditions - we currently need certificates to leave our home - but if you have a certificate saying that you are travelling for work that is allowed.  Likewise airline tickets are also allowed. Contrary to some people, we voluntarily tested before leaving France even in the summer.

All I am enquiring about here is whether anyone knows if it is possible to get a PCR test in El Campello done privately.

I understand that , but travelling for a holiday is my issue. I see you are going to get around the rules and restrictions because you can work from home .But it isn’t your home , you are going to a holiday home and Spain says only travel to a main and permanent home is allowed . My point is...follow the rules , don’t try to get around them .They are there to keep us all safe. We have not gone to Spain for our regular  six weeks in October and November and won’t be going for our 12 weeks after Christmas as usual, unless both the French and Spanish government allow it,  because we respect the rules both in France and Spain for the good of everyone. If everyone adhered to the rules in place this pandemic wouldn’t be so rampant. It is spread by people traveling and mixing , there is no other cause! Don’t make excuses! Just dont go!  We could all do this , but fortunately most choose to respect boundaries and rules for the good of all .

Where does it say "Spain says only travel to a main and permanent home is allowed" Sheila?

I’ve read it several times on this site and have looked at government links that members have kindly posted on here .
