Hi Folkes, I have been inundated with requests for my route through France to Alicante with just 17.50 euros in tolls and 20 hours, in time.stoping evey couple of hours fo a brake and staying within speed limits
Firstly the way i do it i have 2 overnight stops leaving Newhaven on 9am sailing, if you want to do it with 1 overnight stop you need to either do the overnight sailing or do Dover to Calais early morning crossing this way puts about 100 miles and 8 euro toll on your journey and your overnight stop needs to be around Bordeaux, something else to bear in mind Newhaven to Dieppe in summer is very expensive but Sept, to April is approx, £49 1 way
My Route is,
Newhaven to Dieppe 9am Arrive France 2pm French time to First overnight stop Chatteadun 3 hrs 2nd day to Dax 8 and half hours, 3rd day to Alicante 8 and half hrs, If 1 overnight stop 10 hrs to Bordeaux and 10 hrs to Alicante

At Chateaudun on N10 First night stopover at Logis hotel which is on roundabout on outskirts
2nd day keep on N10 Following signs for Tours this is a fast dual carriageway watch out for speed cameras, just north of Tours pick up A10 toll road then come A10 south of Poitiers toll 12 euros this stretch cuts out a lot of small towns, then pick up N10 again for Bordeaux
At Bordeaux take ring road then exit this onto A63 to Bayonne toll 3.45 euros come off A63 at junction 12 for Dax, at Dax 2nd overnight stop a lot of hotels in this area from budget to expensive
3rd day D947 To Orthez keep on D947 passing Navarrenx and Mouselle D2 passing Salies de Bearn following all signs for Oloron-Sainte-Marie at Oloron keep on outskirts and pick up N134 to Spain this stretch is country roads but saves a lot of mileage and approx 40 euros in tolls and a very scenic journey
