Hi I've just arrive today for 6 days, (already bit of a nightmare with car-hire etc...) and then found out that tomorrow is a bank holiday...and just wondering if any supermarkets are open in El Campello... wouldn't mind trying to get some basics..... thanks for any info!

Yes I'm in El Campello, and the woman who did the 'key/handover' told me that it's a bank holiday here... seemingly there's the big bonfire in Alicante city tonight... Between hassle with 2 rental cars since 14h today, I just want to get some basic stuff tomorrow... she seems to think that the Lidl will be open in the morning...so I'll try there.... I know that there's probably no point in looking on supermarket websites as I remember renting something in Calonge years ago, (Catalunya) and driving to Girona and there was one specific day in July where El Corte Ingles closes...and the bank holiday (must be regional, or just the city) was never indicated on their website.. I'll just have to get up early tomorrow and hope something is at least open in the morning... thanks for the advice

Hi Nothing is closed in El Campello except Sundays i have just been to Carrefour and it was very busy with holiday makers no signs up about any closing days

Thanks - I went over this morning early and it was pretty busy then!! Thing it was already 25 degrees by 10am in the store! Yes we came here last year and realised that certain supermarkets open til around lunchtime on Sundays..... sometimes it's a bit difficult to know what bank holidays/local festivals close things down.... I did find their 'main' website where they indicated all the bank holidays per region when they close.... if it's up to date of course!!
