Hi Sarah,

The link is in the post.  Did you read the whole thread?  You don't say what your circumstances are, so I just wanted to make sure that if you're planning to travel to Spain via France, before Spain allows people generally into the country (rather than only the exceptions stated by the FCO), you understand all the requirements.

If you need more information or any clarification, let me know.

Kind regards,

Kim

I think the salient phrases in the following are "Persons travelling for imperative family reasons duly accredited" and "Force majeure or necessity trips, duly justified", in both instances meaning that permission has been sought and granted.

Apocryphal stories of people entering Spain with an NIE, a Padron, by sheer luck, should not be taken as indicative of anything official.

Hi Movingon,

I haven't heard of any "apocryphal stories" of people entering Spain with just an NIE and a Padron - and the two instances I helped with required some work, not "sheer luck".  As a warning for anyone attempting cross-border travel without good cause, don't you think it would be wise to share your "apocryphal stories" with us?

As you seem to be an expert on these matters, please would you advise where people can obtain "official permission" and in what form would they have proof that it "has been sought and granted" for cases of Force Majeure?

Thanks and regards

Kim
