Hi guys,

I’m currently looking to move to Spain and I’m deciding on a location. El Campello looks really appealing to me and I’m going to book some property viewings. One thing I’d like to ask is can those with experience please describe what the levels of tourism are like? I understand that there’ll be a decent amount but I don’t want to reside in an area that effectively becomes little Britain every summer haha. I respect that some people like this but personally it’s what I want to avoid. Many thanks in advance.

I think I've said this elsewhere, but I'd say in Summer  roughly 60% Spainish, 40% everyone else. British no more make up everyone else than everyone else, if you know what I mean.

In winter it's more like 80% Spanish.

On Public holidays it's really busy with Spanish. It's a fantastic place.

Sounds a good mix. That’s what I’m looking for

I would agree that in Summer there is a lot of tourists but English is very much in the mix and in my opinion quite low. We normally stay in Winter when it is very Spanish. Hence there is really only one English bar (Bernies). In my opinion it is a very friendly town and very tolerant to English.  Sunday’s and public holidays on the promenade are a joy!

Excellent place to live. Definitely not little Britain. Very Spanish to the effect that the Spanish come here to holiday. Lots of second homes to Spanish from Madrid and Barcelona. Gets very busy and hard to park in peak season.
