Having had several ferry crossing cancelled ( Bilbao/Portsmouth x3 ....Dieppe Newhaven x1)

Drove to Calais, put on the first available tunnel train (half hr wait ..brilliant )

Not stopped for documentation anywhere!!

Two overnights Hotel, one on the Spanish border at Irun very good and welcoming including fine continental breakfast... the town itself was surprisingly busy and virtually face mask free ditto France.

Motorways in general Quiet

We actually stayed at the hotel Sercotel Jauregui In Hondarribia which is a delightful old town on the estuary about 5-6 miles from Irun, would fully recommend but should imagine its gets v crowded in peak season, as its olde worlds.Hope this is useful....salopia
