Hi there, this is our first Christmas at El Campello.  We're trying to get an idea of what shops/restaurants etc are actually open in Alicante/El Campello.  I found a Spanish website (horario.es), but it wasn't particularly useful... From what I've seen in some small shops in El Campello they seem to be closed from the 25th til the 30th? Does anyone have any more information regarding supermarkets (Carrefour/Lidl etc)? Thanks for your help...

I think the supermarkets will be open on the 26th.restaurants etc can be varied although all will probably open for  lunch on Christmas day. A bit quieter at night.

Christmas Day is a national holiday, as is New Year's Day and Epiphany (6th January - also known as Three Kings' Day).   Other than those 3 days I believe that all the supermarkets will be open as usual, although some may close a bit earlier than normal on Christmas Eve, New Year's Eve and the 5th January.

Great thanks .... will keep an eye out for restaurants too... though not expecting too many of them to be open.

Great thanks - good to know... the websites I've looked at weren't very clear!

welcome to El Campello.  From our experience last year, most restaurants are open for booking on Christmas Day.. In case you are interested to know!

Just be aware that most restaurants will already be booked up for the main holiday days.
