Thinking of moving nearer to the coast as we are getting older and are quite remote in the mountains atm I've always liked el Campello but my partner likes denia could we have some pros and cons for both areas from people that are familiar with these towns ie amenities/ crime rates/ etc thanks 😊

Hi there.  We have lived on the coast in Coveta Fuma just 5 minutes North of El Campello for the last 5 years now (retired from Scotland) and love it. Safe, secure, fantastic Bay Of Alicante views from property and well served by public transport.  All amenities one would ever need are in El Campello.  We have visited Denia (it was a location we looked at for property) on several occasions.  We found it to be less desirable and so much more condensed for social activities than El Campello, where you really feel that you can stretch and breath.  However, personal opinions are very subjective.  There are several hotels on or adjacent to the well-used promenade.  A couple of nights stay there would help with your decision and a visit to Coveta Fuma is directly on the tram line and also  essily accessible by car.  Good luck. Alex.

Thank you so much. I think I'll take my partner there for a few days and hopefully he will change his mind! I love fumeta cova but I thought it was an expensive area to buy in? I'm coming back over soon so will have a look about👍🏻

There may be a couple of top tier level properties coming on to the market (excellent vistas) in Jupiter Parque (Coveta Fuma - Carrer Austria).  Around 160,000€ level.  As I say, coming in time - you could keep an eye out.  Alex.

I think the best pros of El Campello are the public transport (tram and buses) and the fact that it isn't just a tourist resort, it's a busy working town as well. Some people may not like the lack of a significant ex-pat community but that was one of the reasons we bought there. There are English cafes/bars and an English focused "International Centre" should you need them. We are non-residents and have had a property on Avenida Ausias March since 2027 and I'll swear we are still finding different walking routes around town. El Campello is self sufficient in supermarkets and other amenities with Alicante a short tram ride away. Excellent markets on Sunday and Wednesday also. It also open all year round.

We haven't experienced any cons.

Thank you I really like el Campello and the fact it has public transport links is a great bonus. Don't always want to drive in the heat but nice to just get on public transport and see where you end up! We currently have a property near Alcoy in the mountains but as we are getting older we need to be nearer the airport and amenities as we are quite isolated. We are also going to look on the Costa brava 😱 as I drive from Folkestone 4/5 times a year with my dogs and it's a whole day less to travel but we are keeping an open mind. I love the mountains so being near the Pyrenees would be quite exciting 😊
