a month ago i posted a 2 jiffy bags one contained a present for  my grandsons birthday to the uk the following day i posted a couple of letters to the uk. i took the jiffy bags to the local post office in el campello to ensure they had the correct amount of stamps they were both around 8euro as they contained small items. as yet the jiffy bags and the letters have not arrived i have been here in Spain for quite a long time and i know the postal service is very poor but this is the worst i can remember. likewise i have been waiting for a small package from England for 5 weeks has anyone else had the same problem, i can only put it down to the c.v. problem.

We have had a problem with Correos for about 18 months now.

My husbands debit card expired at the end of April ( right in the middle of lockdown), it never arrived, so let's put the facts out there, posted by a Spanish Bank, to a Spanish address to be delivered by the Spanish postal service, I use that word loosely, my husband who should have been isolating as he is in a high risk group over 70 and survivor of 2 strokes had to visit the bank 5 times to get the card.

His credit card expires at the end of this month, guess what? new one not received, so it looks like we are starting this saga all over again.

Pre lockdown I sent 2 SAE'S I posted one in the Correos box outside the little Supermarket near La Fuentes, the other I posted in the box inside Dialprix, neither arrived???.

I have no faith whatsoever in the postal system here, sadly I have told my family not to bother sending Christmas and Birthday cards as they never arrive.

There appears to be a Lockdown-related problem with the UK PO as well.

Items delivered from the UK via non-PO routes have been arriving more-or-less on time.

But items dependant on the UK PO simply have not arrived.

I ordered something on 16th April. According to the tracking data, it was collected by the UK Post Office yestedray.

thanks for your reply castleman pleased it only took a short time for your mail to arrive i was waiting for some medical stuff from my wife in London (lockdown) . it never got here so i had to fork out 90 euros at the local Farmacia being a pensioner it stung me, in your reply you say `standard international post` is that any different from normal post?

did the sender pay any extra for a quicker delivery? was it insured ? i have just paid out near 20euros from this end for jiffy bags and normal letters 5 weeks ago and they have not yet arrived.

I sent an important letter "Carta Certificada Internacional" to the UK from Correos San Fulgencio in January (so before lockdown), which cost Eu 6.50.  Six weeks later, their trackng website was still saying it was in Madrid.  I made a complaint online, requesting an update of whether the letter had been delivered - their response?  They didn't know - could I ring the recipient and ask if they'd received it??!!

no i have had the same things sent over during the early part of lockdown on that occasion they were delivered to my front door and not to my post box on the pueblo espanyol. the delivery contained no liquids or pills. the plain fact is you have been more fortunate than most people and Spains postal service both ways id diabolical.
