Is anyone interested in volunteering to visit an elderly British expat in a care home in El Campello?
I am a volunteer representing the charity Help of Marina Alta. I assisted in the casework to help this person, but he is now out of our area of coverage (Calpe is the nearest that we can help to the south of us) I am based in Benidoleig so with the rest of my volunteer work, with the best will in the world I cannot make visits to El Campello!
He is an elderly British gentleman living in a care home in El Campello, who has no family, nor friends to visit him or maybe take him out into the town occasionally. He speaks very little spanish, and most of the care staff do not speak any english.
He is 70 years old, limited mobility - gets around in a wheelchair, hard of hearing and has poor sight.
He does not have a computer or mobile phone, he relies on calls in and out through the main switchboard at the residencia.
It would make his quality of life so much better if he could have one or two vistors to go and see him and talk with him for a while and maybe take him out for a ride in his wheelchair when the weather is nice.
Is there anyone out there who would like to volunteer for this?
