Aerial Photos
Hi does anyone know where I can get an aerial photo from, would love to get one that covers Alicante to Benidorm. My husband would love to have one framed to go on our wall.

If you find commercial offerings too expensive, try installing the free Google Earth Pro.
With the Pro version you can download images of 4800 x 3209 resolution.
Play with tilt and zoom and the various layers you can include, save the image and see if that would suffice.
An example attached - shrunk to fit forum size requirements.

Hi Kaz
The suggestions about google earth are very valid. Firstly, do not worry about image quality, as Jim has rightly pointed out the pro version has excellent resolution. Remember you dont get that close to such a big piece of art so the 'apparent' low quality close up is not viewed the same when you step back. For example, get close up to your TV... see what it looks like!
Try and print yourself an image, on a few pieces of A4 as a sample and see how it looks.
You can hire a drone pilot, with a specific project in mind, but it will not be as cost effective.
Hope it helps

Hi thanks everyone, I've still not got it sorted, went to a commercial printers who agreed that to simply take a screenshot would not give enough detail, when I say wall art, I want to be able to see details on it close up so we can see roads, paths etc. I think I might have to find a company that does drone photography.

An image showing details of roads and paths from Alicante to Benidorm would easily be bigger than the wall you chose to hang it on.
Your best option is to use Google Earth Pro. Perhaps chose an arial image above your house. Turn off all the tilt zoom options. Zoom in/out until you can get 4 images a 4800 x 4800 with a bit of overlap. They can be stitched together to create enough resolution to make the image you want for printing.
I’m a registered advanced drone pilot. Drone photography is not an option for a wall mounted print of the local area. A Drone is restricted to fly no more than 120m Above Ground Level. The maximum camera resolution is about 4000 x 3000 pixels. It would take a few hours of flight time to map a large area.
Only AESA registered drone operators may carry out commercial work in Spain. I’m awaiting final approval for commercial operations from AESA. There are currently only 3,000 companies in Spain with permission for commercial drone use.
Using a drone is not a cheap option. My minimum rate starts at 180€. Commercial use of a drone requires a registered operator. Qualified pilot, registered drone, Insurance, flight permissions and documentation.
To use a drone over El Campello requires Mutxamel Airdrome to be notified. San Juan down to El Campello are in the safe zone for the airdrome. Notification to other aircraft must be issued (NOTAM) where and when the drone will be flying. That means a lot of pre-flight costs and planning.
If you have a look at a few Google Earth Pro tutorials you should be able to work out how to divide an image you want into 4 parts and zoom out to create 4 larger images that can be combined into 1 high resolution image. The printer should be able to stitch them into a usable image for printing.

Thank you for your reply, I thought thiswould be easy, I have seen similar in Spanish estate agents when they are showing locations of properties etc. Will have a look at Google Pro but have a feeling it is beyond my capabilities to make something that will look good.
