Hi,
Here is the link for the DGT website where you can enter your registration number to see if your car qualifies.
If ok just take your registration document and ID to the post office where they will issue you the sticker.

The only problem you will have is that you will not be able to drive in certain low emission zones, zones that are as yet to be defined. At the moment I have not heard of any low emission zones being set up in Alicante region though someone may be able to advise differently. However low emission areas are coming, this year apparently.

Aitch.

If you use this link it’s all in English and you just need to pop your registration number in to see if you are eligible for a sticker. If you are just follow the process through and you can get your sticker through the post.
Apparently 149 municipalities were instructed to set up low emission zones and so far only 20 have them up and running. But as Aitch has already said, there are none up and running in the Alicante area.
There’s a green zone app you can use to see the areas already set up, but that’s really only of use once the municipality has got around to setting up a zone.
You’ll find the latest information about Torrevieja here

At this time there are no emisison zones except in Barcelona not affecting through routes. An emssion zone for Madrid was overruled by a court. There are several initiatives but nothing to worry about YET,

I know in Madrid the first one was was over ruled by the courts in 2021 and then they brought out a different zone last year - so has that one been over ruled as well
Both Seville and Valencia have low emission zones, but they are only in operation when air pollution hits a certain level.
Seems as though these schemes are devised to cause confusion as well as making money on fines. Then they’ll probably decide 12 months down the line that the fines were illegal.
So who knows what is in store for us?

Have a look on the N332 website. This site deals with anything to do with driving in Spain and is set up for English speaking people. It is run in conjunction with officers of the Guardia Civil and has an English version of the Spanish equivalent of the Highway Code on it.

The scheme is meant for towns of over 50,000 people. Fines are planned to be draconian (€200). I think the best thing people can do is to boycott such places and see what businesses say when they lose customers.
