Hi Locknut,
First-time applicants need to prove:
Eu 462 per month paid into a Spanish bank account, for a minimum of 3 months, OR a lump sum of Eu 5,540 per person
For a couple, it's:
Eu 785 per month, or a lump sum of Eu 9,416
You also need to prove that you have adequate health cover. If one of you is retired, you can get an S1 from the UK to transfer funding for your healthcare to Spain and the spouse can also have Spanish healthcare as a dependant. If you're not entitled to an S1, you would need private health insurance.
Kind regards,
Kim

Could you please inform me of the OFFICIAL link to this financial requirement as in Orihuela Costa, they simply refuse to even look at any application where you have less than 7000 Euro PER APPLICANT on your Spanish account, AND prove that over the last 3 months have shopped, paid bills etc etc. This is IRRESPECTIVE of any steady income ( we have over 2500 Euro income per month), they are simply not interested in that. All of this is to apply for Residencia as EU citizens.

Hi Trotter,
On a separate thread that Mandarino has started, he's confirmed that he's an EU citizen, but not British.
Kind regards,
Kim
