It  depends  on  lifestyle  choices,  Running  a  Car,  always  allow for  unforseen  circumstances  ,  House  always  needs maintenance,  These are things  I  would  take  into consideration  when allowing  for a Monthly  allowance  to live on,

I  would allow 1200 -  1300 a month,

For one or two, over UK state pension age or not?

Two of us budget for Eur 26.5k a year net. Two cars (paid for), eat out once a week, two animals, buy decent food/ drink, private healthcare.

A thousand a month is likely a challenge but; no cars, state sponsored healthcare, no animals......

If your property is paid for,run a cheap car (electric) keep the electric and water bills down you can live a good life in Spain in my opinion.Put it this way,if that’s what you’ve got to spend just make it work.Your money will go further in Spain than UK.
