SIP Card VS Convenio Especial

Hi all. I've been here nearly two years with my family and I've been reading lots of great advice on this forum.
My question concerns the healthcare provisions under the convenio especial vs the Sip card, which I've not seen any explanation of yet:
a) does the convenio especial application itself produce a SIP card, if I am successful or some other card?
b) what difference is there in healthcare provision between convenio especial (if a different card) and the SIP card?
c) how does a provisional SIP card work? I guess many may have got one due to Brexit impacts on income and no way of obtaining a shipment of meds from overseas?
d) would either card cover just me or my family here in Spain?
