Hello there,

My husband has just been offered a job in the Elche area.  We now have to make some big decisions.  This has been on cards for many years but with the downturn it has been delayed time and time again due to us edging on the cautious side.  So really its now or never as my oldest son will be too old to move soon, he has just turned 11.

I am wondering where would be a nice place to live  for a family with two young boys, 11 and 5 , close enough to Elche for my hubby to get to work and a good mix of spanish and expats.

Many thanks for any advice you can offer.

Hi Polly, I do live in Elche with my family and it's really a nice place to live, whether in the city or in the outskirts, the so called 'campos', but do work in the Gran Alacant area (Santa Pola) which is just some 15km away from Elche where you will find a good mix spanish and expats as you say, and almost of the services and amenities and of course, its wonderful 'Los Arenales' dune beach!

All the best with your new chapter! Regards, Alfonso

we are selling our house in pinoso which is about 40 mins drive from Elche. The local town is very Spanish and there are lots of expats living in the villages surrounding the town. If your interested please take the virtual tour on the olive tree pinoso web site ref no 2094.
