Previously Ive used a company to file annual tax return. Im considering submitting tax return myself this year as there are no changes (other than values) from previous years. I would like to know how easy to do it myself this year. I have an electronic clave and have the AEAT app.

Also, what is the normal charge for 3rd party to carry out this work

I've done my own every year for the five years I've been here and it's been relatively simple. I have an electronic certificate on my computer. I've unlinked from the UK tax system and only pay tax in Spain, but all my income comes from the UK via pensions, share divis and savings accounts.

Happy to give you any pointers, but for the next three weeks I'm on hols in Italy.

Thanks my position seems similar to yours, my pension, interest all comes from uk, also i have electronic signature too.

Perhaps you can let me know when youre back and  could help me. I think I have all the info needed but just a matter of getting going!

Hi Tony

I have done my own return for a few years, and my situation is simple, just pension and a little interest on savings.

The first time I did it I had a printed copy from the previous year and used it as a template - just following the box numbers, more or less.

Just work through it, and don't press the final submit button until you're happy everything's correct.

Simples!

Cheers

Steve

I have applied for a digital certificate but it needs to accredited and I am unsure where I need to go to do this?

I got my digital certificate from the town hall in Playa Flamenca. I made an appointment there, and showed my passport and possibly my TIE (can't remember). They gave me a piece of paper explaining how to download it to a PC/laptop at home. It won't download to an Android device though, but I eventually figured out how to transfer it to my android device.

Not sure if this answers your question?

Cheers

Steve

I use a lawyer. She does it for sixty euros. I think it worth the money to be hassle free.
