Good afternoon,

Does anyone know if you can close a Sabadell account either online, social media, email or by telephone.... anything other than actually going into a branch.

I tried this approach a few days ago but after waiting in a line for almost an hour I decided to chalk it up as a fail. Thankfully I didn't have to go to the Post office as well.

Regards

Gary

Hi, I e mailed Sabadell a month ago asking how to close our account, I received the below reply.

With reference to your email, we inform you that to cancel an account it have to be at 0€. As well, all the products related to it (insurances, loans, etc.) have to cancelled too. Then you can call us at 963 085 000 or, if you prefer, go to your reference branch.

However, if you are not going to visit Spain soon, you can always choose a legal representative (with a power of attorney) who can act it in your behalf.

And remember we're also available 24/7 by phone on 963 085 000, via email at [email protected] and on social networks (Twitter and Facebook).

Yours sincerely,

ELIES SOLER QUEVEDO

The bottom line: you must appear in person.

I understand that you have to visit the bank branch that you originally opened the account to close it.

Hello

You could always phone your local branch and make an appt. to avoid queueing.

Cheers

It was 2020 but I closed our account by phone from the UK (I was surprised how easy it was).

We needed to have our balance at €0 as stated so they allowed us to transfer our funds into our new bank electronically while on the phone. They actually couldn't have been more helpful on the phone which is a shame as the staff in Playa Flamenca branch were deliberately rude.

Exactly the same for us. Transferred all monies to Wise account leaving 0euros in account and no outstanding payments. Called the UK sabadell number and the person was very helpful and account closed with no problems.

Best regards Binz

Many thanks for all the replies. For clarity I contacted Sabadell via Twitter and they responded within the hour and confirmed that providing the account is at €0 it can be closed over phone on 963 085 000 (as NigelF suggested in an earlier reply)

Regard

I actually closed mine down yesterday, in a simple telephone call from the IK. I phoned +34 935 202 910, opted to speak to an English speaking advisor, who was ever so polite and helpful. Like others have said, your balance needs to be at 0, and have no current insurances etc under the Sabadell name.

I did tell her at the outset that I have sold my property in Spain and have no reasons or plans to visit Spain again, the process couldn’t have been any easier!

I tried this, arranged an appointment on line using Sabadell app. Received email confirming my appointment, turned up to be told no-one knew anything about my appointment? Luckily not too important and cashier sorted me out without needing to see advisor.
