Hi Gary,

there have been many people in the UK with exactly the same symtoms as you describe. Both myself and my wife had a cold and the resultant cough for about 4 weeks. We had our flu jab late October, our 4th covid jabs in early Nov. My wife picked up her cold in mid-December and I got it a few days later.

From what I have read flu deaths are very high this year in the UK, not sure if it's the same in Spain. I feel it is the partly a result of people not being exposed to these bugs due to covid restricitions over the past couple of years helping to stop the spread.

The article below was in the Guardian late December, interesting reading.

Hope your better soon.

Hi aitchc

It seems there's a lot of it about at the moment, nearly everyone I've spoken to here in Spain has had similar symptoms (especially the cough) and most are saying it's lasting around 6 weeks.

I'm also about 6 weeks in and finally seem to be shaking the cough. I found that drinking lots of fluid particularly freshly squeezed orange was a great reliever and also hot tea with honey.

I was getting to the point where I thought I should visit my GP and maybe get some antibiotics but there's a general consensus that this particular flu/cough is taking over a month or so to get rid of. That seems to be true in my case at least.

Hope everyone suffering with this right now gets well soon.

Gary

I had a cough for 4 months, at first took every medicine possible, went to the doctor's, went for a chest x-ray and found nothing, it did go eventually. I sometimes think it's the dust that's irritating the tubes.

Hiya,

I received a text message from my local medical centre back in December suggesting that I should make an appointment for Covid booster number 4 plus a flu jab as it was being predicted there would be higher than normal cases of the latter this winter. So, I went and got both done and within ...

...a couple of days I had a streaming cold and lousy cough.

Now after six weeks (and a negative covid test) I've managed to shake off the cold but just can't seem to get rid of the cough, I was just wondering if many other people have had an unusual chesty few weeks ?

Regards

Gary

Know lots of people, both in UK and Spain that have had a chest infection and naughty cough, lasting for 6-8 we

I know several people who have had a dry cough for a few weeks here in Benidorm. They have tried a variety of cough meds and sweets to no avail.

Perhaps a mask might help.....😳

Recommend this tea. -  All natural ingredients.

2 teaspoons fresh sage (you can use dried, but fresh is best)
Juice of one small lemon
Pinch of Cayenne pepper
1 tablespoon of honey (or less)

Pour a mug / cupful of boiling water over the sage and allow to seep for 10 minutes.
Strain and add the lemon juice, cayenne pepper and honey, then drink hot.

Good health!

For sore throats chew on a piece of raw ginger (without the peel) and after 30 minutes spit it out and then take a teaspoon of honey.

Feel free to share this with others.

Bingo, I've had a cough since early December and it is just about begining to receded. I'm sure you know the old remedies such as taking a couple of spoonfuls of honey night and morning. Avoid coffee take chamomile (manzanilla in spanish) tea instead and avoid chocolate too as both are irrit...

My cough went after about 3 or 4 weeks. My wife's, though, lasted for nearly 8 weeks. She was checked in the hospital and all tests were fine.

Thankfully both over it now.
