Hi all,

As I can see we have quite a few expats moving to the area, myself and the wife have an apartment in Elda. I welcome you all and please feel free to ask any questions, if we can help we will.

Regards Adam and Mel

Hi Adam, thank you for your post. We move into our new home not far from Elda on 1st July. We will be out by the last week of July awaiting our signing and furniture.. Really appreciate your offer of assistance as we will have many questions about local amenities and services.

Are you a permanent resident in Elda? Is it just you two kind people or do you have family with you? If you don't mind would you PM me your mobile and when we are over perhaps we could grab a coffee or 'something'..

Regards Paul and Mandy

Hi,

Myself and my partner have an apartment in Villamartin which we are in process of selling as it is just too ex-pat for us.

We have been looking at Elda but it would appear I need to have more than basic spanish. Would this be accurate?

It looks a lovely area , where is it closest too re going for day to the beach etc.

Thanks

Hi,

Basic Spanish is all we have needed so far the local people are very helpful so never really struggled, the nearest beach is Alicante bus there is around 4-5 euro aroun 45 min by car 30 mins, lots to do in and around the area also.

Regards

Adam

Hi there, I am interested in purchasing a place in Elda, I’ve seen some apartments for as little as €12,000... is this too good to be true? I initially was thinking of Alicante city... however the cheaper parts are what I know to be called “Mil viviendas” in the north of the city in areas with lots of social housing... so when I saw how cheap Elda is it seemed really appealing, does anyone know what the latest public transport link from Alicante or somewhere on the coast/ more major destination would be?(like benidorm torrevieja, as I wouldn’t want to stay in theses places but having access is handy)As looking on google maps the last train I could see leaves Alicante an 20.40... and it seems budget airlines seem to like all their flights arriving at Alicante airport around 10pm-midnight which is rather annoying. Many thanks :)

Public transport does not run late but a taxi from Alicante airport to Elda is €50, We are fortunate to get picked up most times and on the flight home we have got the bus early and gone around Alicante for a bit. I really do love it in Elda the area and surrounding areas lots to do and see.

Thanks, that’s very handy to know about the taxi :) as sometimes by the time you have got various modes of public transport and gone for more expensive earlier flights.... I guess this would offset the €50. I definitely want to be somewhere more Spanish

It is definitely Spanish, That’s for sure lots of festivals and loads around it’s just finding it first. Some hidden gems away from the coast.
