Hi, We live in the UK and have to be in Costa Blanca latest Dec 28th. Does anybody know how to reliably get a Covid PCR test 72 hours prior to flying (either Dec 26th or 27th). We would like to fly from Bournemouth. Bristol also a possibility. Is anybody actually travelling to Spain over christmas?

Hi

Tests are available at Gatwick & Edinburgh Airports and Testing company rolling out soon to other Airports

If 2 passengers discount  takes cost down to £ 80 each

If not positive result you given

1.Your Neg test result

2.Ok to fly certificate but check if Airline will accept

Your test is on site at airport and result guaranteed by E mail within 48 hrs

Which gives you spare time capacity for the Spanish rule of 72 hrs for neg result

Testing company is rolling out very soon to other airports

But their online book a test just launched

Yesterday and big faults so for now telephone booking

You if passengers need to have your

1 Passport

2 Flight No.and Airline

Early evidence it is working and bookings increasing now

Tel.booking line long queue

Suggest you google Edinburgh Airport Covid tests for all info so you can contact

Testing Company to see what other airports they are going to open in and the date

Thank you for taking the time to answer. Looks like there will be testing at airports in the future, but not this Christmas - apart from Heathrow in Britain and Edinburgh in Scotland. Will probably have to risk using my own lab (The doctor's Lab) and hope the test doesn't disappear in the Christmas post.

We are planning to return to Alicante on 28th Dec.

We have spoken to these people - they send you a swab kit and you return it to them by post. In the phone conversation, we concluded that the dates can work for our return flight.

Hi, I hope this helps you, I have used Confirm its a £119,99 + postage, they are very reliable and tell you when to order & post it back to  them, the postage is all 24 hour & tracked, you could order it today & take it just before you go, they are very good and everything is well timed & you will get your results in time for your flight, if you are interested here is there email, https://www.confirmtesting.com/products/pcr-swab-test-and-fit-to-fly-certificate it was the cheapest one on  the internet,  , the total cost with postage was just over £127.

Regards

Tomo

Just to clarify the airport testing. I thought you had to have the pcr test and the result within 72h preceding entry into Spain. This would mean traveling to the airport for the test then going away again for the 48h the result takes to come through. Is this correct or have I misunderstood?

Yes you are correct re.the 72 hrs

I have investigated most of the people offering compliant tests

And the Airport one is not only the cheapest, but as it is carried out at the airport obviously you have to attend a day or two prior your flight date/ time to make sure your result is no more than 72 hrs old upon arrival in Spain

And as the test is done and analysed at the airport they guarantee your result within 24 hrs, such affords you more time to meet the 72 hr.requirement and enables you to plan

With a high degree of confidence

Whilst Boots are more expensive but will not guarantee result within 48 hrs

And all other testers are also more expensive and dependant upon the vagracies of UK postal system.E.G.if you flying on a Monday or Tuesday you are going to have serious problems with regards to a 72 hr result as Saturday and Sundays do not count as postal days

Finally the rapid flow test although very fast, unfortunately gives you a positive result

If you actually had covid but did not have covid symptoms and that may have been 6 months earlier

As the test is for anti bodies to the virus and not for the virus

Until

1.Enough people vaccinated

2.A rapid test result for Presence of covid virus only and not anti bodies is available

Then the Airport test is currently the best in town for reliability, convenience, cost & ensuring your (if neg.) Result that is 72 hr compliant at your arrival airport
