Very fortunately we took one of the last flights from the UK to Alicante before they were banned for non-residents and managed to complete our house purchase in Finestrat town just after Christmas.

We are now in the process of equipping and furnishing the house and finding out how things work etc., so any tips from local residents or non-resident home owners in the area would be very welcome.  We would also be pleased to meet up with any locals for a drink, meal out or a walk in the mountains.  We are an Anglo-Norwegian couple in our 60s normally resident in south west UK.

Everything seems to be working here with shops open and services operating normally.  As long as you keep your mask on in public spaces we haven't had a problem doing anything so will be taking the opportunity of getting things sorted out in the next few weeks.

We are reluctant to go home to the UK until we know for sure when we can come back out again as non-residents without having to jump through expensive hoops like the PCR test.

Hi welcome to your new life in Spain, I live just up the road in a place called La Nucia and I love it. My partners Italian and I'm English, from Newcastle. Both in our 30s,i like walking up the mountains and exploring new places, also via car. I have my own pet service business and my partner is a restaurant manager for 2 more weeks when she gives birth to our second daughter. We are up for grabbin a coffee or something sometime somewhere of you like.

Hi there,

We moved from U.K. to Orcheta March 2020 and have been laying very low since arrival due to Covid.

We had numerous plans for family visiting from the get go but that didn’t happen 😩

We haven’t really started our new life here as we imagined we would and would love to meet up as we are just down the road from you.

I am a recently retired (burnt out) Nurse and Midwife and my husband took early retirement from teaching.

Private message me if you would like to meet up, we are still fairly conscious of public places but are happy to be outdoors for coffee etc

Welcome to 🇪🇸 😁

Paddy
