Check with your Solicitors as they may have organise Home insurance for you, it nearly Common practice here, of course they get a slice of sweet Cake from Insurance company, also be aware you will not get renewal notice they tend to roll over, you must give Insurance company at least a month notice in writing if you do not wish to renew with them
Welcome to Spanish way of life
Plenty do home insurance for those who are not living in the property full time. Linea Directa also does squatters insurance for about 24 euro on top of the cost.
You will get a small reduction if you roll over the insurance annually. You can opt out of this and they have to contact you to renew rather than it being done without contacting you.
I have been with 3 insurance companies here over the years, wasn't arranged by solicitors and never had to inform them in writing about cancellation, a simple phone in one instance (Mapfre), going to the bank in person to cancel in another (bank's insurance which was quite high). But you must give a month's notice if you have agreed to automatic renewal. (used to be 2 believe it or not).
Only claimed once and Linea Directa did it by video call and they took pictures of the damage via that. It was only a small claim (less than 500 euro) and they repaid me in 2 working days. However, their costs have risen recently so look around at brokers like Cunnigham's etc.

Try Jennifer Cunningham - https://www.jennifercunningham.net/
They will most likely have a office near you. Our house insurance through them includes squatter cover.
As advised by Sliogent, check to see if insurance has already been arranged for you, just in case.
Aitch.
