Morning!

Just to confirm that, as of 1am this morning, the regional government of C. Valenciano has introduced new restrictions in response to the incressing infection rates of Covid-19.

The curfew restriction applies:

-  from midnight and ends at 6am each day,

-  social meetings are limited to 6 people,

-  parks to close at 10pm, and

-  no sale of alcohol between 10pm and 8am, except in hotels and restaurants.

You cannot be out and about, even in a car, during these hours, unless:

-  you need medical assistance,

-  you are visiting someone who is your dependant,

-  or you are travelling to work.

Kind regards,

Kim

Thanks Villas.  I also understand that the Spanish government is holding an emergency cabinet meeting this morning (Sunday), to discuss declaring a further State of Alarm.  I don't believe this is necessarily with a view to another country-wide lockdown (although I assume that can't be ruled out), but it does give both the national and regional governments the necessary extra powers needed to implement whatever is necessary to bring the rapidly rising infection rates under control 🤞

Hello

Thanks for this new info Kimmy , was about to post some links myself but there was too much unnecessary information-- you've made it clearer & easier to understand  by just posting the stuff that is relevant to us.

Cheers

Elinspain

Just want to add that this applies until 9th December

Morning Elinspain,

Good point about the end date of 9 December, thanks - so long as this morning's Cabinet meeting doesn't result in that becoming academic 🤔

I have a "big" birthday in November, so I was delighted to see Villas' post - I'll still be able to get a(nother) glass of fizz after 10pm! 😉😄

Stay safe,

Kim

Hi Kim

I guess your big birthday coincides with your trip to Andalucia - another area to keep your eyes on re- Covid 19 rules/measures  all of which could change here in a heartbeat. Somehow I think you'll manage another glass of bubbly wherever you are .

Cheers

Thanks for clarifying that Kimmy, however can you answer me a query, ? We have a very early flight booked for 31st October, we would have to leave our home before 6 am to catch that flight, is this an acceptable reason fir breaking the curfew or do we just have to wait until 6 and drive like the devil. Thanks

Hi Joan,

That's an interesting one and I can't give you a definitive answer.  If it were me, I would leave at a time that allows sufficient time to travel to the airport safely, but I'd have the flight confirmation easily to hand so that, if stopped, I could prove to the Police a legitimate reason for travelling during the curfew.

As your flight isn't for another fews days, I've messaged the lawyer at our Town Hall and asked whether she believes this is a reasonable excuse for driving during the curfew - I'll update this post when I receive a response.

Kind regards,

Kim

Can I suggest that you raise your query on the N332 Facebook page?   The page is run in collaboration with officers of the Guardia Civil for English speaking people.
