Hi Joan,

That's an interesting one and I can't give you a definitive answer.  If it were me, I would leave at a time that allows sufficient time to travel to the airport safely, but I'd have the flight confirmation easily to hand so that, if stopped, I could prove to the Police a legitimate reason fo...

As your flight isn't for another fews days, I've messaged the lawyer at our Town Hall and asked whether she believes this is a reasonable excuse for driving during the curfew - I'll update this post when I receive a response.

Kind regards,

Kim

Hi Kim another question, sorry😞 were travelling from bilbao to Torrevieja 10th / 11th November and have heard many counties are closing there borders to all but essential travel, will this affect us? I have tried looking on the Internet in UK but getting nowhere, I do understand the situation is very fluid (2 beers and a packet of crisps please) so you can only answer with your latest info

Thanks Mary

From reading this article on the BBC it looks like it could change daily, perhaps depending on the number of new Covid cases. Even if there are currently no restrictions, it’s quite possible that will change before you travel. Unfortunately, I think you won’t know for sure until the day of your travel, unless they impose restrictions earlier.

Horrible situation for you, you have my sympathy.

Can I suggest that you raise your query on the N332 Facebook page?   The page is run in collaboration with officers of the Guardia Civil for English speaking people.

Thank you.  Do you have a link for the N332 Facebook page please?  Thanks

Thanks for clarifying that Kimmy, however can you answer me a query, ? We have a very early flight booked for 31st October, we would have to leave our home before 6 am to catch that flight, is this an acceptable reason fir breaking the curfew or do we just have to wait until 6 and drive like the ...

...devil. Thanks

Hi Joan,

I received an answer from our Town Hall - the lawyer recommended having your flight confirmations to hand in case you get stopped.  She also spoke to our Policia Local who recommend travelling with sufficient time to get to the airport safely and legally, although she pointed out that it's the Guardia Civil (Trafico) who are more likely to stop you than the Policia Local.  Also, I don't know whether this is an option for you, but they said you're unlikely to have a problem if you travel by licenced taxi.

Kind regards,

Kim

This was quoted on the N332 Facebook page a few hours ago.

Going Back Home.   If you wish to drive back home through France, catch a ferry in the north of the country, or just taking a plane, do not worry about the restrictions of movement among the different communities. All citizens who are on their way back home are authorized to pass through these restricted areas. And those who are abroad and have their official residency in Spain are allowed to come back whenever they wish.
