Hi all,

Apparently, last Friday the UK government corrected the inequity of self-isolation for those of us who have been vaccinated abroad.  We can now take flights to the UK without the fear of being "pinged" and having to self-isolate for 10 days:

Kind regards,

Kim

Good to read this. Has anybody managed to load their EU certificate onto the NHS app or whatever is required to use it when visiting the UK?

Had a quick look this morning but could not see how. Thanks. Iggy

Hello Kim

I came to the UK on Wednesday just gone and the locator form didn't ask me for my seat number. Never got pinged once 👍

I uploaded this app.  Just type in...

Green Pass PDF wallet and it will come up.

I added my locator form

EU vaccine certificate

Neg result before flight and randox day 2 test at airport appointment.  Was very simple to use.

Hope this helps.

Sue 😘

P. S. Sorry I'm not familiar with the NHS app.

Hi Sue,

Was your response for igup?

I travelled to the UK in November, but if the UK hadn't applied different rules depending on where their citizens had been vaccinated, we would have flown back instead of driving 🙄

Stay safe,

Kim

Hello Kim

Yes it was for Igup the last bit.

It's all a mess and I remember reading when you drove in November.

The rules keep changing and confusing me 😜

Sue 😘

Hi,

if the airport you are flying into has a on-site testing facility that would be your best bet to get a guaranteed test result. Another alternative is Boots chemists, they do on-site testing in a number of their stores. You can book appointments on-line.

A cheaper option would be to use Randox Health, they have numerous test boxes scattered around the UK. I would not consider using a service that required sending the test samples back by Royal Mail, at this time of year the post is too unreliable. Randox Health do a PCR test for £43 with a discount code. If you look on their website,

  https://covid.randox.com/

you can see the various options they have and find drop box locations that suit you.

Rgds,

Aitch.

Hi rds1234

I used TestnGo.co.uk for my 2 day test (Antigen) on my visit to the UK 2 weeks ago. The cost was £15 and you basically take a photo of your test result and by the power of the internet send them the photo and they issue you with the certificate via email. I would not hesitate to use them again.

Hope this helps

Neil

Please remember that the day2 test has to be a PCR test, which requires sending off the swab for laboratory analysis.

Whichever provider you go with make sure that you can get your swap sample to them, either by courier, drop box or walk-in clinic if you want the result within 2 days.

Rgds,
