How to deal with forum trolls

...e sole purpose of causing dissent.  They offer no evidence to support their views and, when challenged by an alternative position they either don't understand or don't know how to debate, they become abusive.

So I thought it may be helpful to remind members of some quick options we have to deal with abusive members:

-  the 'Unhelpful' button, which you'll find at the foot of every post;

-  the 'Report' button, which you'll find at the top right of each post;

-  and the "Block" button, also at the top right of each post.

Alex will act on a reported post and multiple Unhelpful votes against individual posts. 

Personally, I've found the 'Block' button particularly useful this week for a couple of members who are constantly argumentative and never add value.  I'm sure others will find it liberating too 😉

However, it does seem that as a non- British forum member, I do have a different view on things, and that clashes sometimes with others. I will do my utmost to show restraint when posting .
