Formentera is a lovely village but it can be like living in a ghost town. For a village it has a lot of bars, butchers, supermarket etc.
It has a lovely square which has its own bar.
During the day you might not see a soul, in the summer months the place comes alive at night with a lot of the Spanish sitting outside there homes.
Buses are not reliable at all but when you do catch one it takes you to guardamar which is a bus station.
Taxis are hard to get as there is no taxis rank.
If you like walking you can walk to Rosales, benijofar and the urbanization of benimar which has English bars Chinese etc .

thank you smiles, that's good to know, does anyone know of any rentals for maybe two months, maybe September /October, when we stayed there last time we really enjoyed the laid back atmosphere, we spent many a day just chilling out at the square, ,once again smiles thanks for your reply,

Just joined forum today and saw this. There is a very reliable taxi service based in Formentera and they speak English. Just telephone and they will pick you up. Used them several times. Limited bus service between Guardamar and Orihuela, a bus to Alicante twice a day. But a shirt walk to Rojales and Beniofar with buses available there also.
To really appreciate all the area has to offer a car is advisable, the roads are very good and there is easy motorway access from the village.
Despite the late reply hope this helps.

Not sure if this reply is too late for you. Formentera is a lovely village and the people very friendly. It is within walking distance to Rojales, Benijofar and Benimar. I’ve had a place there for 12 years and would recommend it to anyone who would like a mix of the real Spanish and great expat life. Hope this is helpful
