New Rules when visiting my Apartment

Hi I'm planning to visit my apartment in Formentera del Segura next month but wanted to know if the new rules will affect me and if so how?  I have heard that when I get to Alicante passport control I will have to let them know where I am staying, which is fine, but will I need to bring proof that I own the apartment, as I have no rental agreement?? I know I can only stay up to 90 days, which is also fine but Ive also heard you need to bring proof of having enough monies to keep you during your stay - is this so.  Im very confused as to what is true or not.  Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Been covered many times. These rules virtually mirror the same as a foreigner going to UK has except you have to show more money. Never been stopped, never had any of my visitors (quite a lot) been asked and they've never seen anyone stopped for it either.

Imagine a plane coming from UK with 250 to 300 people landing and usually about 3 or 4 at the same time. How long would it take to process them all?

If it happens let us know but a while back a Valencia official was asked and his reply was why do the British (guiris) make everything so difficult?

Unless you  come to the attention of immigration as a down and out or as a na'er do well drug dealer or terrorist then do not expect to be quizzed

The following link provides you with the official conditions of entry to Spain as issued by the Ministerio de Asuntos Exteriores, Unión Europea y Cooperación:

Hi, I might be wrong but I don't think these are "new" rules. They've been in place for some time but, to date, we've never had them enforced anytime we've travelled in the EU with our UK passports, which includes many times flying into Alicante. That's not to say one time we might be asked for the information? Always best to check Government websites rather than solely relying on other travellers experiences. Enjoy your visit.

These rules are also in place for foreigners visiting UK and the amount of funds is even higher with the proviso you may need to show more if staying in London.

Just imagine plane loads of people arriving at Alicante or Heathrow, hundreds at a time and sometimes 3 or 4 planes landing at the same time. Then imagine the time it would take to do all this.

Not had visitors this year (yet) but loads last year from single travellers to families. Not one has been stopped except to get passport stamped.

We flew back 2 weeks ago having travelled into Alicante in December.  No problems, but we are carrying an Ibidrola and Aqualest bill with our apartment address on just in case. Plus as you probably have a Spanish bank account that should prove your finances and if you are carrying a credit card. I don't think it will be a major issue just the media scaremongering as usual. Enjoy Formentera I can't wait to get back out.

The idea that any one ever has been stopped and asked for this information is simply laughable .

Don’t worry about it .
