So the famous Spanish tipple is actually British?

Morning Kim

😄😄 Controversial! Let’s hope “other” forums don’t spot this; the fur will surely fly 🤪🥂

Morning Ange!

"Other forums"?  Are there other forums? 🤔😉

None that I know of with CBF's collective of almost 40,000 members 💪💪💪  You know, I've never really thought about it before, but that's one heck of an audience and prospective customer base for advertisers, isn't it? 👍

Glad you made it back to the UK safe and well, and good to have you back online.  I'm sure you're busy getting settled back into home, but if you get time, would you give us a potted review of your experience at Alicante and Manchester airports, and how you got on with the testing requirements?  Thanks muchly.

Stay safe and when the going gets tough - drink fizz!

Kim 🍾🥂🥴

😄😄 Time is something I have plenty of at the moment; 10 days quarantine!!!

As we were flying Saturday 13th, we had our antigen tests at our local IMED hospital on the previous Wednesday. €40 and results within 10 minutes. Fantastic

Thursday I ordered our day 2 and 8 tests, from livecovidtesting.co.uk £175 each and completed the passenger locator forms. Just for clarity, it needs to be done test ordering first as they supply a reference number which must be entered onto the locator form

Not wanting to teach my granny to suck eggs, but I found it easier to “screenshot” all the required paperwork; test result, locator form and evidence we’d purchase the day 2 and 8 tests

Alicante was very quiet, as expected. Food and drinks were available at “Food” or is it “Eat”, although I took our own sandwiches as I’d not known what to expect. Boots also, advertising their meal deal.

Check in was understandably slower as they needed to check all the required paperwork, but no problems at all. No need to say masks at all times.

PASSPORTS WERE STAMPED at the gate. Hopefully that clears that up 😉

The plane was relatively full, with staff reminding passengers that standing in the gangway and queuing for the toilet was not allowed; please remain seated

Manchester was very straight forward; all paperwork checked again, then we were off.

Now comes the interesting part. By Monday, our day 2, therefore our first test day, the test had not arrived. I rang the Manchester office; no reply. Rang the London office; answerphone. I then emailed the company. Checking through the emails, I found a personal @hotmail address, so I also emailed that. To his credit, he rang me within the hour. He stated there had been a few difficulties but they should be with us by Tuesday; to phone him if not.

Tuesday morning and the tests arrived, by Royal Mail. We had them completed within the hour and our friend called and took them to the post box. There was the option of having them tracked. The return post instruction made me smile. As were not supposed to go out, without assistance, how was the return of the tests going to happen?

Wednesday. I received an email stating that, by return email, I must provide time and date of test ✔️ and also the bar code on the kit ✖️ Without which our tests could not be processed. Obviously, we were not able to supply that as it had been returned. I emailed the company, suggesting that they perhaps needed to include that in the instructions, or even by email at the point the tests were dispatched. I forwarded the email to the @hotmail address. He again responded promptly (not the company), stating not to worry, they would still be able to process.

Please bear in mind the company state results within 24 hours

Friday. I have still not received any results. As I’m now really fed up, and the company were on the government approved list, I email my MP, outlining the problem. I’ve had an acknowledgment; we shall see. I also email the company and cc the @hotmail guy, requesting a refund as they are not fulfilling the requirement.

Saturday. I’ve received an email requesting proof of cancellation of the flight in order to process my request for a refund. I’ll not bore you further with my reply!!

So, rather than sitting twiddling my thumbs for 10 days, I’ve been busy 🤪🥂

Blimey, Martyn, when I saw 3 posts from you in quick succession, I thought you'd been on the Sangria for brekkie! 😂😉

Just a general point on Wikipedia, this quote is from their own website,

"Wikipedia can be edited by anyone at any time. This means that any information it contains at any particular time could be vandalism, a work in progress, or just plain wrong."

Without categoric proof, I agree it's up to individuals to decide what they prefer to believe.

So, on to serious matters: Tiramisu - Italian or Greek?? 😋🤣

Best wishes,

Kim

Yea an alcoholic breakie at one point (when i was single and life was good lol) probably wouldve most definitely been on the table.... Followed by jet-skiin, unfortunately those days are gone.

I didnt intend to send 3 replies couldnt link it, now i know how to though so next i won't, apologies for that though 😊

Wikipedia have to put on that as its Law because anyone implies to anyone who can hack their wikipage or any of their employees worldwide. But if you click the edit button and try to change it you will find you need to work for them/Google to do so.

And tiramisu- its disgusting, although similar to marmite in the fact that its either loved or hated. But its Italian, my family's Italian and when it comes to their food and history i know alot more than them haha. Ask me the history of bolognesa.... The forum will go wild especially the people that say the "correct" recipe lol. Same with pizza 😂
